Description

This is a multicomponent treatment program for adolescents with behavioral disorders who are in juvenile justice centers. The intervention follows a hybrid model, combining components of the “Positive Peer Culture” and “Aggression Replacement Training” programs.

Impact evaluations

An impact evaluation showed that participants in the program had greater gains in social skills and lower levels of institutional misconduct, and were less likely to reoffend compared to the control group, which did not receive the intervention [1].
The study had an experimental design with a sample of 54 adolescents in a medium-security juvenile correctional center. Of those, 18 were in the experimental group and 36 in one of the two control groups [1].
