Description

This is a program to prevent risky behaviors and teenage pregnancy. The objective is to break the cycle of poverty, reduce teenage pregnancy levels and unemployment, and prevent drug abuse.
The program initially works with children as young as 10 years of age and monitors them until high school completion and college enrollment. The intervention is carried out as an extracurricular activity in schools or is included in the curriculum, and seeks to develop children’s ambition and goal-oriented planning.

Impact evaluations

An impact evaluation showed a 40%-50% reduction in teenage pregnancies after three years of follow-up. Evidence of effects on high school completion and college enrollment is promising [1].
