Description

This is an intervention carried out by trained professionals to assist victims of domestic violence. The specialized team is called in by the police once the situation of violence has stabilized.
The team provides crisis management, emergency treatment, and referrals to specialized services. One week after the episode of violence, a case manager follows up on the woman/family through phone calls and home visits, complementing the work carried out by the specialized team.

Impact evaluations

An impact assessment showed that, after the 12-month follow-up period, families who received the intervention suffered 1.7 more episodes of domestic violence than the families in the control group, who did not receive the intervention [1].
