Description

This is an intervention for girls in correctional institutions involved with the juvenile justice system. The aim is to provide treatment services for girls that reduce the risk of recidivism, increase self-esteem, and improve communication skills, relationships, and school performance.
The program offers educational resources and develops social and emotional skills through individualized psycho-pedagogical interventions. Participants are monitored for a certain period of time after the end of the intervention. And additional services, such as preventive education on drug abuse, handicrafts, mentoring, and community services, have been implemented. Each group includes six girls and applies the same intervention curriculum, lasting five to six months.

Impact evaluations

The results showed a statistically significant reduction in recidivism rates after two years of follow-up [1].
