Description

This is a residential educational program for adolescents, based on the doctrines and practices of military organizations. The objective is to help them complete elementary school and insert them into the job market.
The criteria for participation are: being between 16 and 18 years old, a history of school dropout or expulsion, not abusing drugs, and not being subject to juvenile justice system measures.

Impact evaluations

An impact evaluation showed that, after the 36-month follow-up period, adolescents participating in the program were more likely to be employed and complete high school compared to the adolescents in the control group, who did not receive the intervention [1].
However, there were no statistically significant effects on the number of arrests or reported levels of delinquent behavior, illegal drug abuse, and psychological distress [1].
