Bráulio Figueiredo Alves da Silva is a social scientist, graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), where he also did his master's and doctorate in Sociology. He also works as a researcher at the Center for the Study of Criminality and Public Safety (CRISP/UFMG), which is a reference space in Brazil for the analysis and development of initiatives focused on the study of violence and criminality.
There, he works on research and consultancy projects in the areas of public safety, evidence-based policing, crime and urban management, juvenile delinquency and criminal justice.
In this video, the specialist presents and teaches relevant techniques for the calculation of crime rates, and explains how this methodology can be used to guide and evaluate evidence-based public security and justice policies.
