Description

This is a program to monitor probationers. Each participant has a social worker as a reference professional to monitor compliance with the actions foreseen by the program, such as substance use treatment (non-intensive outpatient level) and weekly individual and group psychotherapy sessions. The follow-up period ranges from three to six months.

Impact evaluations

Program participants had a recidivism rate of 27.8%, while the rate in the control group was 34.2%. However, there were no significant effects on employment and income, cohabitation, and regular contact with children, nor on drug and alcohol abuse [1].
