Description

This is an automated ballistics image and analysis system that makes up a computerized database of projectiles and weapons used in crimes. The aim is to reduce the time spent on ballistics analyses and to instrumentalize and facilitate the work of forensic experts during the identification of this evidence for use as information in investigations and trials.

Impact evaluations

An impact assessment showed that there was a statistically significant 6.23x increase in the monthly number of hits generated by the Ballistics Unit after implementing the automated ballistics imaging and analysis program [1].
