Description

This is a combined intervention between video surveillance and targeted police patrolling. Two patrollers targeted problem situations identified by a security video camera operator monitoring 19 targeted areas. The intervention lasted 11 weeks.

Impact evaluations

An impact assessment showed that violent crime and social disorder decreased, while the level of drug trafficking violations was unaffected. Increased video monitoring and police patrols were effective [1].
