Description

These are multi-service, non-residential facilities that aim to reinsert parolees into the community. The centers are open seven days a week and offer educational services, vocational training, job preparation and placement, substance use prevention and counseling, among others.

Impact evaluations

An impact evaluation showed that the program contributed to a 68% reduction in the probability of program participants being rearrested, a 73% reduction in the probability of being reconvicted, and a 20% reduction in the probability of being reincarcerated, compared to 46% in the control group that did not receive the intervention. These results were statistically significant [1].
