Description

Thisprogram is implemented in schools to prevent the use of psychoactive substances by high school students. The aim is to prevent or reduce the use of tobacco, alcohol, and cannabis.
The intervention is structured in an operational manual and is carried out over two years, with 11 intervention sessions in the first year and 3 reinforcement sessions in the second year, completing a program of 14 sessions, where activities are carried out in small groups, involving questions and answers, organizing games and encouraging new skills to stimulate students’ interest and participation.

Impact evaluations

An impact evaluation showed that the program failed to generate statistically significant results in terms of reducing or avoiding the consumption of alcohol, cannabis, or cigarettes among adolescents from the sixth to the eighth grades participating in the program [1].
