Description

This is a therapy program for stress management offered to victims of traumatic events and/or with substance use problems. The aim is to reduce the symptoms of post-traumatic stress and drug abuse, and to encourage the development of social and emotional skills and healthy relationships.
The program can be implemented individually or in groups, in a hospital, home, or institutional setting. The program’s curriculum can be structured freely, in as many sessions as time allows, as long as it covers these topics: safety, asking for help, setting limits, healthy relationships, community resources, compassion, purpose, rehabilitation thinking, self-care, stress management, choices, and red flags.

Impact evaluations

An impact evaluation showed a statistically significant reduction in PTSD symptoms, psychiatric disorders, and drug abuse [1].
