Description

This is an intensive school violence prevention program for elementary school students. The aim is to reduce aggressive and violent behavior and the risk factors for the development of such behavior, and to encourage protective factors that strengthen resilience.
The program is implemented in classrooms throughout the school year, integrated into the curriculum, in order to promote mutual respect, teamwork, healthy relationships, and accountability.
The principles to be respected by the students are:
1) Listening carefully;
2) Showing affection and gratitude;
3) Respecting others; and
4) Freedom not to take part in group activities if they do not want to.

An impact evaluation showed no significant differences between the treatment group and the control group in aggressive behavior, risk-taking behavior, social problems, and attention [1].
