The webinar was attended by:

  • Santiago Pérez, senior specialist of the IDB's Citizen Security and Justice team.
  • Macarena Rau, international president of the International Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Association.
  • Daniel Mejía, Associate Professor, School of Economics, Universidad de los Andes.

On this occasion, the aforementioned experts presented a series of solutions found in the Evidence Bank regarding Urban Security, and reflected on the following key questions: what has worked to prevent urban violence?; what do we know about the effectiveness of urban security interventions and solutions that have been tested in the past in countries in the region or around the world?; and what gaps in knowledge and reliable scientific evidence still exist in the literature on urban security?
