Description

This is a program for the installation of surveillance cameras for license plate recognition in areas dedicated to vehicle parking. The main objective is to prevent and reduce the occurrence of crime in the intervention area. Cameras are installed at the entrances and exits of parking lots, and keep a record of all license plates.

Impact evaluations

An impact evaluation found that the program did not produce statistically significant effects in terms of reducing crime rates (including vehicle-related crime, property crime, and violent crime) [1].
