Description

This is an initiative that involves home visits after reports of domestic violence have been registered, carried out by teams of police officers and defenders trained in the basics of dealing with cases of domestic violence, crisis intervention, and child development.

Impact evaluations

An impact evaluation showed that, 12 months after the initial incident, the women who received the intervention were more satisfied with the police and more likely to report both repeated domestic violence and non-physical violence. Participants were significantly more likely to use the services offered by the court and seek mental health treatment for their children. However, these interventions do not appear to reduce the recurrence of domestic violence incidents [1].
