Description

This policing program is aimed at collaboration between police officers, other public institutions and neighborhood residents to develop plans to fight crime and antisocial behavior or social isolation.
The activities carried out were: focused policing to reduce and dismantle crime and disorder, inviting the community to join the process of identifying priorities and gathering data, evidence and feedback, and increasing the presence of authorities with easy access to the neighborhood, especially police officers and community leaders.

Impact evaluations

An impact evaluation showed statistically significant reductions in crime and in residents’ perceptions of five of the eight types of antisocial behavior measured; there was an increase in the population’s trust in policing, in the feeling of security, in the population’s awareness, and in the resolution of neighborhood problems [1].
