Description

This is an assistance and supervision program for young adults between the ages of 17 and 22 who have been released from foster homes, correctional homes, and mental health institutions. The objective is to develop skills for a stable and safe adult life, prevent recidivism or first involvement in criminal behavior, and promote literacy and entry into the job market.
The intervention consists of weekly meetings between experts and participants, and involves families and community assistance services to facilitate the process of transition to society. Experts are available 24 hours a day and apply individualized treatment, with goal-setting and follow-up in the school, work, and home settings. Intervention follows a structured model that addresses emotional regulation, behavioral changes, cognitive skills training, trauma psychoeducation, and vocational counseling.

Impact evaluations

An impact evaluation revealed an increased income and improved housing stability and financial situation, as well as better mental health and reduced intimate partner violence in the treatment group compared to the control group [1].
