Description

This is a social reintegration program aimed at low-risk prisoners. Through the intervention, inmates can carry out paid occupational activities or take part in vocational programs, becoming entitled to a shortening of their sentences.

Impact evaluations

An impact assessment showed that the program led to a 16% drop in recidivism into the same or new offenses, and increased the chances of getting a job after release from prison. In contrast, there was a 78% increase in parole revocations for technical violations [1].
