Description

This is a visitation program for individuals incarcerated in prison institutions. The aim is to maintain social ties and reduce the risk of recidivism. The program allows family and friends to visit, but requires prisoners to be responsible for communicating the rules for the meeting.

Impact evaluations

Impact assessment studies have shown that inmates who were visited at least once during their incarceration time had a statistically lower risk of recidivism and revocation of technical violations compared to inmates who were never visited [1] [2].
