Description

This is a sex education program for high school and college students. The aim is to reduce sexual aggression and increase witness reporting.
This is a brief intervention carried out using audiovisual activities transmitted online. University students follow the self-administered activity model, while high school students are accompanied by the school staff.
The intervention addresses the characteristics of healthy and abusive relationships, teaches how to identify situations of sexual aggression and potential aggressors, and provides guidance on what to do when witnessing situations of this kind and to prevent episodes of violence.

Impact evaluations

Impact evaluation studies have shown that students who watched the intervention video reported greater “bystander behavior” (i.e., acting to stop the observed abuse) after the six-month follow-up period. Higher levels of bystander behavior were also observed in the virtual reality simulations after the intervention and after the six-month follow-up period [1] [2] [3].
