Description

This is a residential treatment program for high-risk youth involved with the criminal system. The goal is to reduce behavioral problems, promote improved academic performance and stability in the sobriety process, and reduce recidivism and permanency in correctional institutions.
The program provides a short stay in an institution focused on high-risk youth and offers treatment and follow-up with ongoing support for families.

Impact evaluations

An impact evaluation showed that, after 24 months, participants had a reduced need for residential care in a locked environment, as well as out-of-home placement. A financial analysis determined that the program was a cost-effective alternative due to the reduced need for residential care in a locked setting. There were no significant effects on recidivism or psychiatric care [1].
