Description

This is an initiative for the environmental prevention of drunk driving among university students. The initiative includes DUI checkpoints in universities, operated by guards, civil police, and road patrols. It includes media coverage and a marketing campaign developed by students in the university newspaper with the aim of increasing the perception of the risk of being arrested for drunk driving.

Impact evaluations

An impact assessment showed that environmental prevention campaigns against drunk driving that combine monitoring and publicity are effective in university environments [1].
