Description

This is a police strategy to prevent suspected and potential offenders from carrying and using firearms, with the objective of reducing homicides.
The project provides for both the identification and prosecution of those individuals in federal courts. In addition, zero-tolerance public campaigns regarding firearm crime are developed to increase community participation.

Impact evaluations

An impact evaluation revealed that the program produced a 22% reduction in firearm homicides per year, compared to the 10% observed in other large US cities [1].
