Rochester Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (R-FACT)

This is an adaptation of the Assertive Community Treatment Program focusing on risk factors for crime and collaboration of mental health and criminal justice services for people involved with the criminal system. The goal is to reduce recidivism, prevent hospitalizations for psychiatric disorders, and promote access to housing.
The program includes four components:
1) Intensive assertive community treatment;
2) Identification and treatment of criminogenic risk factors;
3) Intervention with law enforcement to ensure adherence to the program; and

Lethality Assessment Program (Oklahoma)

This is a program that provides police officers with a tool for risk analysis in cases of intimate partner violence. The objective is to predict which women are at risk of being victims of homicide in the future and to help them take protective measures to ensure their safety, thus reducing the frequency of further violence.
Victims identified by the tool as being at risk are accompanied by specialized advocates, who help them develop a plan for their safety and well-being.

Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) in Detroit

This is a multi-agency program involving local, state-level, and federal law enforcement officials, along with representatives from correctional probation facilities, focusing on firearm felonies.
The program includes five components: partnership, strategic problem-solving plan, training, outreach, and accountability.
Arrests were reviewed by senior members of the (legal) team to determine priorities, and information on gangs and areas with firearms activity was shared with the rest of the team.

Firearm Suppression Patrol Program in Pittsburgh

This is a police program to direct additional police resources to selected high-crime areas.
An additional patrol of four police officers and a sergeant was deployed in three vehicles to the two high-crime areas.
The process lasted 14 weeks, with two 4-hour shifts (from 20 to 24 hours) per week, during which information was solicited from passersby, and areas of suspicious activity related to arms trafficking were investigated.
The actions consisted of stopping traffic, detaining pedestrians, and conducting searches and interrogations.

Recovery Management Checkups for Women Offenders (Cook County, IL)

This is an intervention for the treatment of women released from prison who use drugs and have committed non-violent offenses after their period of incarceration. The objective is to reduce recidivism and the use of alcohol and other drugs, promoting recovery.
The program provides regular relapse prevention reviews and early intervention to prevent reentry into the prison system, and implements motivational interviewing and HIV risk reduction intervention.
The intervention consists of six components:
1) Ongoing engagement;
2) Quarterly monitoring and treatment;

Community Mediation Maryland Re-Entry Mediation

This is a conflict mediation program that serves inmates and their families. The objective is to discuss the convicts’ past experiences and future expectations in a session mediated by experienced professionals.
The session is designed to facilitate communication, understanding, and a reentry plan to assist in the process of returning to the home community. Meetings are held initially as a group and then individually.

Police Patrol Drawn from Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL)

This is an intervention designed to increase and improve targeted patrolling based on information generated by automatic vehicle tracking in order to reduce crime and increase police effectiveness.
Police departments received the following weekly reports generated by the automated vehicle tracking: the amount of police resources directed to the selected hotspot in the previous week, how long each hot spot is patrolled for, and the time spent by officers on other emergency calls and activities outside the hot spots.

Raising Safe Kids Program

This is a universal outreach program for parents and caregivers of all backgrounds to strengthen family bonds, improve or change parenting skills and practices, and prevent violence against children. It is also designed to be flexible, so that a variety of institutions and community organizations can implement it or integrate it into existing services.
