The Companhia Integrada de Policiamento de Proximidade (Integrated Proximity Police Organization) was a program implemented in the 6th Military Police Battalion of Rio de Janeiro to complement the Police Pacification Units (“UPPs”, focused on favelas and conflictive communities), with particular emphasis on middle and upper-class neighborhoods.
