Sumaq Warmi (Peru)

This is an educational program that provided training activities focused on human rights and violence against women and children aimed at women already participating in a rural microcredit program.
Sumaq Warmi (“Wonderful Woman”) provided training on gender and violence to women living in rural Peru through two-hour sessions once a month for seven months. The program approach was based on the training materials used by the “ Intervention with Microfinance for AIDS and Gender Equity” (IMAGE), which was launched in South Africa in 2001.

Intensive Supervision for Persons on Probation at High-Risk of Committing Offenses (California)

This is an intervention for high-risk offenders on probation. The objective is to promote public safety and reduce recidivism and the number of individuals incarcerated in the prison system.
The program consists of intensive and strict supervision, with scheduled meetings between the probation officer and the offender, telephone contact, and drug testing.
The intervention may also include vocational training, mentoring, drug treatment, and drug education.

Sasa! Program (Uganda)

This is a community mobilization intervention that seeks to prevent violence against women by addressing gender inequality and social norms regarding the acceptability of violence. Based on the theory of states of change, SASA! is implemented through trained community activists and is organized in four phases: initiation, awareness, support, and action. Full implementation of the program typically takes three or more years.

My Life Mentoring

This is a mentoring and assistance program for young people aged 15 to 19 residing in foster care institutions who are in the process of reintegrating into the community. The objective is to guide the youth in their transition to adulthood in order to achieve their educational and professional goals.

Programa El Sistema (Venezuela) (Venezuela)

Opportunity to Succeed (OPTS)

This is a case management program designed to reduce relapse and recidivism by providing services to individuals convicted of crimes and with a history of drug and alcohol abuse.
There are five intervention components:
1) Substance abuse treatment;
2) Employment services;
3) Housing services;
4) Family reinforcement services; and
5) Healthcare and mental health services.

Communities Mobilizing for Change on Alcohol

This is a community intervention to reduce and prevent underage drinking. The objective is to limit access to alcoholic beverages and raise community awareness of the dangers of underage drinking.
The intervention strategy is to focus on cultural, institutional, and legal practices that facilitate access to alcohol, such as commercial and social sources, through two components:
1) Multiple one-on-one conversations with community members to build relationships and put together action teams; and

Community Policing Program in Madison, Wisconsin (United States)

This is a program to reform a sector of the Madison police force to adopt community and problem-oriented policing practices. The goal is to implement quality leadership, healthy work environments, quality of service delivery, and community benefits through training of police officers and organizational changes in work environments. The program lasted two years.
